Jairus (pronounced JAR-us) Richardson joined the family lumber business in 1848, at the age of 12.  Years later as a Lieutenant in Co. H, 1st Wisconsin infantry, Jairus gave his life for this great nation, leading men at a place called Chickamauga. 

From the earliest days building cheese boxes and "brawlproof" tavern furniture, Richardson Industries developed decades of woodworking expertise as OEM to the contract furniture industry and on the water, as a leading fabricator of interiors for custom and production yachts.

Today, Richardson Industries is one of the oldest continuously owned and operated family businesses in the nation.  It is with high honor and great dignity that we brand our contract furniture offering after this dedicated family man, patriot and businessman, who gave his life for this great nation.
